Ministry of Health reveals levels of satisfaction with hospital care • At the bottom of the table: Yoseftal, Wolfson and Rambam

In which hospital will you receive the best treatment in the emergency room?

Of the large emergency rooms, Sheba Hospital's Emergency Department received the highest score (77), followed by Meir Hospital (76) and Soroka Hospital (75).

This emerges from a summary of data from the "Patient Experience" survey, conducted by the Ministry of Health.

Also in the ranking of the large hospitals - Ichilov and Shaare Zedek received a score of 73. Of the smaller hospitals, Assuta Ashdod (81), Carmel Medical Center (81), Kaplan (77) and Poria (77) scored high.

The data are based on a satisfaction survey conducted by the Ministry of Health once every two years, in which 8,000 people who were treated in 29 emergency rooms in Israel during 2021 participated.

The emergency rooms that received relatively low scores were Assaf Harofe (72), Nahariya (72), Hadassah Ein Kerem (72), Rambam (70), Wolfson (70), and Yoseftal (68).

Hospitals that recorded a significant decrease compared to the previous survey in 2019 are Yoseftal (decrease of five points) and Poria (decrease of four points).

Hospitals that recorded a significant improvement are Ichilov (improvement of 11 points), Hillel Yaffe, Carmel and Hadassah Mount Scopus (seven points each) and Bnei Zion (five points).

On a national average, the overall satisfaction with visiting the emergency rooms is 75, an increase of nine points since the first survey in 2015, and an increase of one point from the surveys in 2019 and 2017.

The subjects with a relatively low score were waiting time (72) and overall satisfaction (66).

Subjects that received a higher score from the patients were the attitude and respect (84) and the provision of information (79).

In contrast to the adult scores, which recorded an increase in all indices and also in the final score since the previous survey (73 vs. 71), in the child scores there was a decrease in all the indices examined, and the concluding score was 82 vs. 85 in 2019.

One estimate is that the decrease in score is related to the fact that in the pediatric screenings, respiratory screenings were established for the treatment of corona, which caused delays.

Among the large hospitals, among the large hospitals, Sheba and Kaplan (86) and Meir, Ichilov and Rambam (85) lead, and among the small hospitals - Bnei Zion (93) and Assuta Ashdod (92). Among the children who recorded a relatively low score were Schneider (74). ), Assaf Harofe (74), Hadassah Mount Scopus (73) and Yoseftal (70).

Weakness: The wait

The Ministry of Health convened a discussion with the child screening administrators to discuss the results of the survey.

As expected, waiting time in the emergency room has to do with satisfaction.

The perceived "reasonable" waiting time is up to three hours.

However, in the survey, 38% of participants reported that they had been in the emergency room for more than four hours.

While the satisfaction of those who were in the emergency room for up to two hours was 79, those who stayed in the emergency room for four to six hours gave a score of 58, and those who stayed more than six hours - 53.

The Ministry of Health stated that "in response to the existing difficulties, we promoted before the outbreak of the epidemic a broad and comprehensive national plan, to improve the quality of care and the patient experience in the hospital.

The plan included addressing alternatives to referrals to technology, technological solutions, adding manpower and more. "
